Rules

Guidelines and Regulations

Star Trek: Mariner runs on a set of relatively common sense rules. As we are a part of Horizon Fleet, we also follow the guidelines and regulations they have set out. What follows is a brief overview of those regulations. Please become familiar with them, particularly if you are new to the world of simming.

While the Mariner is a Movie-Era Consitution Class vessel, she has been brought forward in time 112 years to the current timeline. She has been refitted with 24th century technology. When you join the sim, you have the choice of being part of the original crew or the new crew. If part of the original crew, then you came aboard in 2272, were trapped in the anomaly for 112 years, and then spent two years reacclimating yourself to the advancements of the last century.

All players on the USS Mariner must treat each other with politeness and respect. Disagreements between players should be handled off-list. If the matter is serious, it should be brought up to me (the CO) privately.

All players on the USS Mariner simulation are asked to post at least ONCE every TWO WEEKS. If any player has difficulty with this for any reason, he/she should inform me (the CO) immediately so that measures can be taken to ensure no one is wrongly penalized. Failure to post for TWO consecutive two week periods will result in removal from the simulation.

The USS Mariner Simulation is voluntarily rated PG-13, meaning that in order to join, you must be 13 years old or over. Also, beacuse of this rating, posts containing graphic or gratuitous sexual content or violence may be edited and or removed at the discretion of the Command staff.

Please ensure that all posts are spell checked before sending them. We all make mistakes (myself included), but a quick check before you send will make reading a post MUCH easier for others.

The USS Mariner Simulation supports diversity in all forms. Neither I nor any other member of my command staff will discriminate based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or engage in any other bias. If this is is offensive to you, I accept and respect that opinion, however it does mean that I will politely decline your application. I am committed to providing a friendly environment where players can write and have fun secure in the knowledge that they will never be harassed, hassled, or judged. Any incident of abuse, no matter how minor, should be reported to me immediately so that it may be handled quietly and quickly.
